It is a vegetarian feast prepared by both men and women, especially when needed in large quantities, for weddings and other special events. - Puli inji – a sweet and sour ginger pickle usually served as an appetizer in Kerala Sadhya. It’s a combination of tongue pleasing flavors. The main ingredients of puli inji are ginger, tamarind and jaggery. It can be refrigerated and store like pickles.

- The word kootu means ‘a mix or combination’, and the recipe is a mix of different vegetables and chickpeas simmered in a coconut cumin gravy, and later topped with browned/fried coconut.
